Double-O Hoagy?

A little something I came across a couple of days ago, though truth be told I don’t remember what led me there.  Anyway, get a load of this bit of James Bond trivia:

Fleming decided Bond should look a little like both the American singer Hoagy Carmichael and himself and in Casino Royale, Vesper Lynd remarks, “Bond reminds me rather of Hoagy Carmichael, but there is something cold and ruthless.” Likewise, in Moonraker, Special Branch Officer Gala Brand thinks that Bond is “certainly good-looking… Rather like Hoagy Carmichael in a way. That black hair falling down over the right eyebrow. Much the same bones. But there was something a bit cruel in the mouth, and the eyes were cold.” -wikipedia

I do enjoy the mans music, but I don’t see even a little secret agent in him.

Not only did I never see a bit of secret agent in Hoagy, I always simply think of him as the guy who played Fred Flintstone’s song in “The Hit Songwriters.”

I vaguely remember that one. I think “To Have And Have Not” was my introduction to him and his music. Not the best actor, but it would have been fun to see him play the role once. Couldn’t be any goofier than Roger Moore!

Is soon as Daniel Craig gets himself out of 007’s shoes he was okay in Casino Royale – but his later ones now sucked he had turned James Bond into Jason Bourne and this is the start of its decline 007 is dead, I think it’s about time Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccolli should search for the right actor and the right voice to capture closely to what Ian Fleming originally intended unlike the others, It needed to get back to lighter humor like the Roger Moore era and something like George Lazenby had done with On Her Majesty’s Secret Service would be interested instead of making it dull, crappy lines or boring.
