Devil’s Diamonds

Because I lack any real design talent, I’m forced to build on the work of others when I need graphics for the podcasts and websites. In my search for free to use (that’s royalty free and cost free) images to mangle into what I need, I came across the ArsGrafik site. How people create the images there I do not know, but I am grateful they are willing to share their work.

This diamond pattern is one if the designs available there that caught my eye. I don’t know why, but it strikes me as a bit creepy. Is it the colors? Is it the dark edges? If you need a background for your evil carnival website it might be worth a look! Just dial diamond, D-I-A-M-O-N-D. (Remember that commercial?)

Oh, there is something about the way the pattern doesn’t seem flat, is it curved? Can you tell? Evil carnival is right.

Is it curved, or is it an effect of the shadows?

Definitely creepy – kind of what I’d expect John Wayne Gacy’s boxers to look like.
